Open Source software, in its simplest most microeconomically atomic social context is FreeWare. In a capitalist world, free stuff works to hook people to get them to pay for stuff (via advertising, promotionals, etc.) or works to reduce operating costs (prison labor, etc.) or in the part of the capitalist world that aims to elevate ideas (schools and universities), free stuff can be used to elevate an ideal.

Ideals do not directly curb the excesses of capitalism - the human and environmental exploitations.

So while Open Source software will be nice for anyone who likes to share something freely and for spreading the spirit of freedom, without something more it is simply that - i.e. it is in and of itself ineffective in evolving society's most challenge institution: the profit-maximizing corporation. While many people would like to share things freely, it is only a small minority of people who have the majority of economic surpluses to share. There is also a distinct limit to how far society can get with an everything free mentality - so Open Source Software is limited in its ability to lead a new vision for the leadership class, the corporate executives and owners.

Instead what is needed is Aikido Source Software, that is developed by Aikido Corporations and can be used by other Aikido Corporations under favorable terms. This is a more favorable evolution path for the Open Source Software movement.

Aikido Source Software is neither free nor for maximum profit, but at a reasonable price with a reasonable profit, while applying resources towards advancing the Aikido Activist meme.
