Reed Burkhart led innovation and new business efforts for 13 years as a satellite systems engineer and business development manager at Hughes Aircraft Company, followed by 7 years in high-tech signal processing and communications startups and consulting. Mr. Burkhart is the inventor of the world standard system for geo-location used today for locating unknown satellite transmitters, and conceived the possibility of using a tiny Ku-band satellite receive dish for Hughes FCC Broadcasting Satellite Service licenses – a key strategic concept that helped to establish DirecTV. Mr. Burkhart has built systems engineering and market analysis teams, developed tools, processes, procedures, and strategy in both arenas. Mr. Burkhart helped Thailand and Malaysia to develop their own national satellites systems. Mr. Burkhart holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and in Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

As a father, a global citizen, a citizen of the United States, and a professional in the field of telecommunications, I am optimistic that Wiki tools such as XWiki will permit the growth of online communities of dialogue that function more efficiently and effectively than listserves, yahoo groups (and the like), especially for the purpose of raising awareness of social pioneering entrepreneur-activists.

The Aikido Entrepreneur-Activist will benefit from the advancement (promotion, simplification, broadening concurrence, etc.) of the ideas of Aikido Activism, and all people can benefit by global society's most powerful institutions (corporations) behaving with greater inclusion (diffusion of empowerment) and stewardship (diffusion of care). The AikidoActivismWiki can also permit everyone to be a part of this Aikido revolution - not just reasoned business entrepreneurs - for anyone can read and contribute as further eyes, ears, minds and voices to increasing humanity's self-awareness and evolution (AND EVERYONE MUST GET INVOLVED IN SOME WAY IF SOCIAL CHANGE WOULD COME ABOUT).
